Nvidia is the US firm that specializes in artificial intelligence and chips is scrapping its $40 billion bid to buy UK mobile chip giant Arm from SoftBank after persistent regulatory objections, according to people close to the matter. The Financial Times reported the deal is dead. The news comes after months of regulatory scrutiny and uncertainty on both sides of the Atlantic.
As per the reports, Nvidia is buying the mobile chip company of UK Arm from Softbank. However, the news is being declined by both parties. It was also speculated that the deal is failing because of the regulatory authorities. There were investigations done by the European authorities and a Lawsuit done against the deal.
Earlier Softbank had purchased ARM for roughly 32 billion. The listing of the company would be done in New York but due to the constant pressure by the British authorities, it was done in London.
