National Disaster Response Force Twitter Handle Hacked, Fully Restored Afterwards

The Twitter handle of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was hacked late Saturday and fully restored by Sunday evening, officials said. The cyberattack at the handle ‘@NDRFHQ’ took place around midnight and led to a series of Misleading tweets by the handle, including one that said there was a major fire in the Air Force headquarters.
The tweets were soon deleted, and the handle was restored around 8 p.m., officials said. An NDRF spokesperson said the organization is investigating the incident and has taken measures to ensure it does not recur.
In a statement, the spokesperson said, the NDRF has a robust cyber security system in place to ensure its network is protected against such attacks. “However, in this case, the Twitter handle of the NDRF was hacked and hackers posted messages on the handle which were later deleted by the NDRF.
However, there will be a security audit conducted to ensure that the mishappening does not occur in the future.
