Better.com CEO Vishal Garg, Who Fired 900 Employees Over Zoom, All Set To Return

Better.com, the online home goods retailer that was once one of the biggest names in the industry, is back on the fast track. The company, which was founded by Vishal Garg and grew into one of the largest U.S. home goods merchants, was on the brink of bankruptcy not long ago. But with a new CEO at the helm, Better.com is hoping to put the past behind it and prove that it is a force to be reckoned with once again. A year and a half after firing 900 employees and selling his photo-editing startup, Better.com, to Google. CEO Vishal Garg is all set to return to the startup world. The company has roped in ex-Zoom CEO, Richard DeVaul, as its new CEO. Garg will be a chief operating officer of the startup, which is “all about using AI and machine learning to help customers improve their digital and personal productivity. What was once a promising internet start-up, is now Better.com – a splintered empire of internet domains and a former employer of 900 people. The company, which was once synonymous with internet domains, is now better known for its bad treatment of employees.
After firing 900 employees, Better.com’s former CEO Vishal Garg is all set to return to the startup world. The news was confirmed by a Better.com spokesperson, who said that Garg is in the process of setting up a new venture. Garg, who was Better.com’s CEO from the year 2010 to 2017, had earlier founded and built up a
digital marketing agency, Zoom, which was acquired by Better.com in 2017. The new venture is expected to be a digital-first brand, focused on customer experience.
