Google and Meta Reportedly Demanded To Stop Online Child Pornography By European Commission

As per the latest reports, Google along with Meta have been ordered to detect child Pornography sites and take necessary actions to stop the child pornography that is happening online. The order came from the European Commission that these illegal activities should come to an end as they are causing serious threats to society and children. The images of children indulging in illegal practices have been roaming around the internet and some communities are taking it as a business.
The memorandum has been passed by the European Commission and the organization that will not comply with these rules will have to compensate for a theory fault of not paying attention. The penalty which will be charged to the companies will include a share of 6 percent of the annual income of the organization. All the rules regarding the penalty will be revised according to the European community.
Serious action has been taken against these organizations as these companies were not taking serious action against the child Pornography websites and content rolling all over the internet. The previous steps did not help to eliminate the risk of these fraudulent practices decreasing. The protection of children was not at all seen.
There were various reports filed for sexual harassment against children in various countries and the rise in the COVID – pandemic increased them to never imagined state which was statistically a rise of 64 percent. Looking at these awful practices and disastrous figures, a community was set up and strict rules were being formatted.
These companies will be detecting fraudulent websites that support child pornography and removing them to make the internet a secure place for children. There will be a series of actions taken against these websites. The website owner will be sued.
